Do512 Presents: Part II (Competitive Movie Sequel Pitching) at The New Movement
June 9, 2017 | cimgroup
It's pretty rare that a movie sequel actually manages to capture the magic of the original film. More often than not, it actually undoes that magic. This fact is so widely accepted that subpar sequels have become something of a cliche, and The New Movement pokes fun at this cliche at Do512 Presents: Part II (Competitive Movie Sequel Pitching).
Sponsored by Do512, a local organization that creates and finds fun events around Austin, Part II invites amateur screenwriters to come out to The New Movement on Saturday, June 10th at 7:30 p.m. armed with their best tongue-in-cheek pitch for a sequel to their favorite film. The judges select the best, and their writers move on to the next round, during which they have to write a pitch based on a movie suggested by the audience. The victors from this round compete in the final round, when a grand champion is crowned. It's $7+ to attend or participate, and the venue is BYO. Don't miss it!
